Acupuncture uses very thin needles, inserted into specific places on the body to regulate the body’s nervous system, increase circulation, and balance the body. It is very good at helping relieve muscle pain, fertility (this includes, but is not limited to, acupuncture for breech and induction), digestion, anxiety, sleep, and allows you to relax.
In addition to needles, cups and/or electrostimulation can be used to help muscles become less tight, and stimulate circulation.
There is evidence that acupuncture influences the production of and distribution of a great many neurotransmitters and neuromodulators, and that this in turn alters the perception of pain.
